The Clearance Aisle at CVS

Do you check the Clearance aisle at CVS? Apparently it can be a goldmine. Jennifer emailed me about the awesome deal she got. Most things she got are CVS comparables to national brands but if you are not stuck to one brand this would be great.

clearance

Here is what she got:
• 11 bottles of conditioner
• 5 hair gel/spray items
• 2 facial cleansers
• 3 facial moisturizers

All the items were marked down about 90%. The total was $11.43 + tax. If you have Extra Bucks that you need to spend before they expire, using them on clearance items is a great way to get a bang for your buck when other deals aren’t available. Great find Jennifer. Thanks for sharing.

Now go check out your CVS clearance aisle!

Sunday Shopping Spree

Sorry, no picture. I can’t find the cables that connect the camera to the computer.  For Week #3 of spending $40/week, I came in at $48.87. I did go over but I had an extra $12.23 from weeks 1 and 2 so I’m still under budget by $3.36. I went over because I found a really good deal on a pork loin at Randalls that wasn’t on my list but I couldn’t pass up. I had some extra time on Saturday so I decided to try out a local market my friend, Jan recommended. She told me they have really good prices on produce. Boy was she right! It’s a little out of my way but hopefully I can plan a trip into my weekend activities. Here’s what I got:

·         3 yellow onions

·         4 Roma tomatoes

Their receipt doesn’t show how much I saved and I didn’t write anything down in the store (I will next time) so I’m not sure how much I saved. But my total was $4.22 and then they gave me an extra $.05 off for bringing my own bag.
