Shellie’s Favorite 5 Deals (8/4)

Welcome to Saving with Shellie! If you are visiting the site for the first time after seeing me on Fox 7, we thought we’d mix it up a little this week. Instead of highlighting my favorite five current deals, I rounded up five of my favorite money saving iPhone apps.

:: Sale Price – This app helps you calculate the sale price. Punch in the original price, sales tax rate and discount percentage and it will tell you how much your final price will be. This is a great tool when stores are offering additional markdowns on already marked down merchandise. You can find out before you get to the register if you’re staying within your budget.

:: Amazon Mobile – Ever shop at Target, Walmart or Best Buy and wonder if you’re getting the best deal? With the Amazon Mobile App you can enter your purchase and see if you can get a better price at Amazon. If so, buy it when you get home! Or show the store manager your phone and the Amazon price. They may be willing to match the Amazon price.

:: Cheap Gas! – Find out if a gas station a few miles down the street has cheaper gas that where you are. It uses geo location so it’s great if you’re driving in the car. Just make sure you check it at stoplights so you are ticketed for using your phone while driving!

:: Cardstar – This app lets you store all of your loyalty cards on your iPhone. It creates bar codes for them. Just hand your phone to the cashier to scan. Then you don’t ever have to worry about forgetting your loyalty card at home.

:: Yowza – Uses the geo location to find coupons that can be used at merchants near you at any given time. Shows stores and restaurants. Just share the coupon code on your phone with the cashier and you’ll get the discount.
