We love eating out. We usually go out at least once a week, sometimes more. Since I discovered Restaurant.com, we are able to try new restaurants (and keep going to our favorites) for less money.
If you’ve never looked around on their site, I suggest you try it one day. They have a variety of restaurants to choose from and you get to purchase gift certificates for more than 50% off. For example, a few weeks ago we got a $75 gift card for $30!
There are usually a few strings attached. Like you have to use the full amount on one visit or there’s a minimum purchase or blackout days. Read the small print before you buy but don’t let that discourage you. There are still good deals to be had!
Happy Saving!

I have done this and it’s great! If you sign up for ebates.com, you can get a rebate for each gift certificate. The percentage is small, but the best part is having access to the codes to get the big discount (the last one we used was 80% off – we got $35 worth of food for $12.)
At which Austin restaurants have you found the best deals?
In the past I’ve found the restaurants that require the purchase of 2 entrees (vs min purchase amt)to be the best deal. Though last time I checked there weren’t many (any?) with that requirement.
We have tried Bess Bistro, El Rincon (Pfl), and Romeo’s (in Georgetown.)
I usually buy generic restaurant.com gift certs and then redeem within the year. Then you aren’t locked in to a certain restaurant–and you can stretch the expiration date almost an extra full year!
