I was really excited about the Frozen Food promo that started on Sunday but I can’t seem to find many good coupon matchups for it. Feel free to leave a comment below if you see something I missed. Don’t forget to load your Cellfire and Shortcuts coupons before you go. They might help you save a little more.
My store triples coupons up to $.39 and doubles up to $.50. It will only multiply one like coupon and does not accept coupons on free items. This was taken into consideration when doing the matchup. New to shopping at Safeway? Read the coupon policy HERE.
Most of these deals should be valid at all Safeway affiliates (Carrs, Dominick’s, Genuardi’s, Pavilions, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Safeway, and Vons) but be sure to check your local ad.

what is a super coupon as mentioned in Randall’s/Safeway list of deals?
a super coupon can be found inside the weekly ad.
I asked my safeway if they double coupons but the manager is clueless. do u know if the cashier has to press some buttons on the register or it will automatically take off the amount? thx
Star, the register should double or triple the coupon automatically. I’m pretty sure that Safeway and Tom Thumb have the same coupon policy, and they only allow you to double or triple ONE like coupon per transaction. So let’s say you have 2 Softsoaps in your cart for .99, and 2 coupons for .50 off, the register will double the first one, and the second coupon will only deduct .50 off your total. Hope that clarifies.
Star – It also depends on your area. Randalls and Tom Thumb (in Texas) will double coupon up to $.50 automatically and triple up to $.39 automatically. Arizona Safeways only double but do so automatically – many weeks they even double coupons up to $1. California affiliates do not double. NW area (WA, OR, ID) Safeways typically will only double 4 coupons per transaction. You need a coupon to get the coupons to double and this is found in the weekly ad. I’m not sure about Chicago, Pennsylvania or Virginia affiliates. If you live in one of those areas, let me know and I can find out.
For the honey nut cheerios scenario above, are you allowed to use a manufacturer’s coupon along with the cellfire coupon? I thought you could only use one or the other.
Per the new Safeway coupon policy they allow you to use both an ecoupon and a manufacturer coupon.
Anyone? What kind of coffee is the $1.99 Maxwell House? I don’t see it in my Dominick’s flyer and am wondering if we aren’t getting that here?
Glenda, it was just a blue can and was listed on the same page as all the other Super Coupons. Maybe your store replaced it with another brand or item.
I am new to couponing, but I did use the Cinnamon toast cereal coupons, as per suggested, one e-coupon, and one printable. What Shellie did not take into consideration is that Safeway doubles coupons up to $1. The ecoupon did not get doubled but the printed one did. So the final price for me was not $.78 but $.33! I was pretty tickled! Kinda neat to get a box of cereal that shows it normally sells at $3.19 for $.33!
I also was wondering about the Land o’ Lakes butter coupon. It doesn’t seem to match the store product?? The coupon is for “light butter,” but the store ad is for “spreadable butter.” Doesn’t matter, in any case, because our store was out of the butter by today (Friday) when I went in.
Iva — see Shellie’s (and others) notes above on coupon policies – Shellie lists the deals with the coupon policies for HER store. As she mentions above, many different areas have different policies.
Way to go on the cheap cereal… we all love it!
Not all Safeways double, and I believe none in California (at least not in my area!).
Yep, I got to thinking about that later–that my store is likely different from Shellie’s and so I made a hasty assumption. I apologize. It WAS fun to get an even better deal than Shellie had at first suggested. I appreciate the “pro’s” out there, like Shellie, who are helping me learn how to profitably use coupons. Once I learn, it’s a skill I’d like to pass on to my daughters. Thank you!
