In case you missed it, I launched my 2009 Holiday Gift Guide on Sunday. I’m really excited about all the products included and hope you find it useful. Many of the merchants kindly offered to give their products to you so I’ll be hosting giveaways all week and into next week too!
Today, the giveaway is for a handmade olive branch wreath from Lindsay Olives. You’ll find these featured in the Gifts that Give Back section HERE.
A Little About the Product: Lindsay Olives is offering gift-ready wreaths in two sizes, each a fragrant restyling of the traditional olive branch wreath. Holiday shoppers can give a charming 14-inch round wreath, or an impressive 18-inch round wreath. The wreaths are hand-woven from freshly harvested olive branches, universally recognized as a symbol of peace, along with branches from bay and eucalyptus trees. The branches are harvested from California groves and, over time, dry to a beautiful silvery green. Fragrant bay and eucalyptus branches add that special holiday aroma. Each wreath is packaged gift-ready in holiday red tissue paper with a personalized gift card. Buy them online HERE. All proceeds benefit Meals on Wheels
Why I Like this Product: When I opened the box I couldn’t believe how wonderful the wreath smelled. It was amazing. It was also beautifully woven together. I plan on using mine as a centerpiece however you could easily use it as a wreath. I’ve had it about 2 weeks and it is slowly drying however it hasn’t lost it’s luster. This would make a wonderful gift and you’ll also be helping Meals on Wheels with your purchase.
Today I have a one wreath to give away. Ready to win? As usual there are 3 methods of entry:
1. Leave a comment telling me one of your favorite things to hand make over the holidays. I love making gingerbread cookies to take to family gatherings.
2. Subscribe to Saving with Shellie via RSS feeds, email or Facebook. If you already subscribe, leave a second separate entry saying you do so.
3. Follow me on Twitter and feel free to Tweet about the giveaway. Be sure you leave a separate entry with your Twitter address.
The giveaway will end on Saturday 12/12 at 11:59pm CST. I’ll announce the lucky winner on Sunday 12/13.
Good Luck!

My children and I enjoying gathing food from our pantry and taking to our church on Sunday morning for the church food pantry for the needy.
My boyfriend and I do not purchase gifts for one another, and instead purchase for a 6 member family each year. The tradition has caught on with each of our families, and it gives us more quality time to enjoy with one another on Christmas morning.
I love making traditional cookies with my children and sharing them with our neighbors who are so helpful throughout the year. Thank you for the chance to enter.

i keep a bag at the ready for all of the great freebies i pick up, and once or twice a month i deliver them to the food pantry. they are usually thrilled to be getting toiletries, as they don’t have many.
My family tries to make cookies together but it seems as they get older it winds up just me. We used to make popcorn with cranberries for the tree and we used to make paper chains for the tree. Now our children have to keep up the traditions with their families.

I love making Christams cookies with my family
My aunt used to make us Almond Roca when I was growing up every Christmas. When I was in my 20′s, the torch was passed to me & I now have the fun of making it for our entire family. Since we moved to Texas, I’ve added a bit of the South to it & it’s now Pecan Roca.

We love making decorations for the house!! We have never had a ton of extra money to spend on decorations for the house for Christmas or any other time of year so I started having the kids help me hand make things as they each got old enough. Now, even if I could go buy decorations, I don’t want to because I love the things the kids make!!
