In case you missed it, I launched my 2009 Holiday Gift Guide on Sunday. I’m really excited about all the products included and hope you find it useful. Many of the merchants kindly offered to give their products to you so I’ll be hosting giveaways all week and into next week too!
Today, the giveaway is for the 2010 Hope Calendar. You’ll find these featured in the Gifts that Give Back section HERE.
Adorable children are featured in this inspirational 12 month wall calendar, themed “Hearts of Hope”. ALL proceeds are donated to a congenital heart defect organization, It’s My Heart, based in Houston, Texas. These are real children from across Texas who are affected by congenital heart defect. Buy yours online HERE. Or through Friday 12/11, shop through the secret link HERE to get 30% off!
Why I Like This Product: This one hit close to home for me since this is an organization here in Texas and features Texas kids. In fact, I have it on good authority that one of the Misters July is from here in Austin. If you need a calendar or like to give calendars, I encourage you to give this one. The children and beautifully photographed and the proceeds go to a very good cause.
Today I have a one calendar to give away. Ready to win? As usual there are 3 methods of entry:
1. Leave a comment telling me your favorite way to give back. I enjoy helping with food drives to benefit my local food bank.
2. Subscribe to Saving with Shellie via RSS feeds, email or Facebook. If you already subscribe, leave a second separate entry saying you do so.
3. Follow me on Twitter and feel free to Tweet about the giveaway. Be sure you leave a separate entry with your Twitter address.
The giveaway will end on Friday 12/11 at 11:59pm CST. I’ll announce the lucky winner on Sunday 12/13.
Good Luck!

Every year just before the holidays my family and I pick a worthy cause to give to. This year we picked the military support goup Soldiers’ Angels. I’ve been a member of the org. for several years now and I know that they do great work. Money has been a little tight for us this year, so we came up with an idea to helps us raise funds for our charity. I wrote and published a cookbook of dog treat recipes for us to sell. I make homemade treats for our dogs and I thought a cookbook of recipes would sell very well. The cookbook has been selling well and I hope that we have a nice donation for our charity by the end of the year. It will make us feel good to give back to the men and women of our Armed Forces who give so much of themselves for our contry.
