I’m here to tell you about SavingStar which is a new way to save on groceries. This program is very similar to other ecoupon offers in that there is nothing to clip and nothing to print. However, SavingStar has a different twist.
:: How SavingStar Works
First, click the eCoupons you like and they will link them to your store loyalty cards. There are lots of participating stores like CVS, Kroger, Albertsons, Rite Aid, Harris Teeter, Giant and tons of others.
Then just swipe your loyalty card at checkout. This is where SavingStar is a little different from other eCoupon programs. The coupons will register when you purchase the specified items but your bill will stay the same. These coupons do not reduce your out of pocket expense.
Instead, the funds are added to your SavingStar account. Once you save $5 you can have the funds deposited to your bank account, sent via Paypal, get an Amazon gift card or donate them to American Forests. Personally I think this is a great way to start earning money for Christmas.
:: How to Get Started
To get started with SavingStar, just register HERE. Then link the loyalty cards for your neighborhood stores. Select the coupons you want and you’re ready to shop.

Just a heads up. Before signing up for any of these digital coupon services you really should check with your local store and find out what policies there are. For example if you shop at Kroger and put digital coupons on your rewards card you are not allowed to use the paper coupons for the same product. So in other words if you have a $4 digital coupon for a razor and a $4 paper coupon for the same razor you can’t use both. The paper one will be rejected by the system. Also if you have a digital coupon that is less than a $1 and a paper coupon that is the same. The paper coupon is the coupon that will be doubled, tripled, or more. However if you have the digital coupon and you have already put your phone number in you are stuck.
Of course each clerk is different and may allow a coupon or two to go through however is it worth it?
