Hi Shellie, just wanted to let you know about a deal I noticed in the CVS ad. On page 16 Natural Instincts Loving Care is on sale for $3.99. A coupon for $4/1 came out in the 8/2 paper, would make them free. Also was wondering about the pampers deal on the last page of the ad…do you think we can combine the coupon for the “free pampers sensitive thickcare wipes when you buy any box pampers swaddlers or extra protection diapers”? That would be a great deal to get 2 packages of wipes, and 2 packages of diapers for $13!! Thanks Shellie, have a great week :o )

This was a good trip for me to CVS. I actually went at 11:30pm Saturday night. I ran into people I’ve met repeatedly who coupon. It may become a ritual! Nice folks!

I bought one of the weekly specials for a coupon expiring at midnight because it was a 4$ MM. The ECB printed fine for that. At my store they start working around 6pm — prices and ECB. The manager was fine with it. Then I gathered up my items for the three day sales. You have to wait until midnight at my store for those because the computers won’t print the ECB until then for the 3 day sales. (The price is already set but the ECBs won’t print early on the 3 day sale.)

Since it was a school supply kind of week, I mostly got that although I also got the free personal care items. I did the BOGO coupon and a $1 off on the Stayfree. I didn’t have enough coupons to make the dishwasher soap deal work for me so I passed on that.

This trip took me about an hours to prepare for and an hour to execute, although I got hung up at the pharmacy for a while on an unrelated question.

All in all, I got $50 worth of these items, spent $9.05, higher than necessary because I forgot to use Extra Bucks on my first purchase. And now I have $28 ECB for next week. I could have reduced my cash out by breaking up the transactions, but that requires more thought on my part. The manager is so nice each week at my store that I just do it all in one transaction and carry over until next week. I suppose I should be careful that I don’t get stuck with coupons I can’t use for bargains! But I need some things that I haven’t seen on sale lately so I’ll probably just buy them at CVS using my ECBs.

My free gift was for a 4 pack of AA batteries. I didn’t get it yet, but I will later this week.

I also purchased a prescription (GRRRR… co-pay has increased yet again). I didn’t get a coupon book so I asked it. I was told they are for people who ask about signing up for auto-prescription. So I got one. Maybe other’s can get it by asking about auto prescription renewal plan. It has some nice coupons in it as promised that will add to my money savings in coming weeks!
