I’m sorry but I took my post down. I read in the terms and conditions that they could void my stay for posting “cheats”. Whether or not they would, I’m not sure but I don’t want to risk it.
I recommend you check out the Slick Deals message board thread dedicated to this sale. Read the wiki on the first page for tips and then skip to the last page and read comments from other users.
Good Luck!

I can’t Check4Change to work on my mac. I also tried ReloadEvery. Any idea what can work on a mac to autorefresh a page???
Thanks so much! for sharing, my hubby’s 40th is this year and wanted to surprise him, now I can afford to!
Thanks so much for the post. I was wondering though — how did you know you were booking an all-inclusive resort? I haven’t been able to see those details on the site. Thanks.
Should I turn off the check4change when the video starts playing? It’s too cold in Atlanta and Puerto Vallarta sounds pretty good to me too!
Shellie, do you have to turn off the Check4Change when the video starts so that the page doesn’t keep refreshing while you’re trying to book your room?
am i correct in assuming that all fees and taxes apply……how do you know how much this is going to be?? THANKS!!
Hello. I’ve downloaded the Check4Change program and it’s went off twice today but when i pull the page up to the front there’s nothing different, none of the prices have changed. When i do the search it still shows all prices the same too. I think something’s messed up with mine.
Has anyone done this who knows whether or not we’ll be charged for taxes? There’s a nice 5-star hotel in our home city, but taxes alone for a weekend get-away would be $99. Not sure if it’s worth it to me (but for $2 only, on the other hand…!) Thanks for all the help!
Mindy, you need to download the older version of Firefox for Mac.

Check for Change is not compatible with the latest Firefox. Go to the link, find your preferred language and download the Mac version. When it is installed, drag the Firefox icon into the Application folder in Finder, then you can open it. Once opened, follow Shellie’s instructions. I hope this works for you.
I just called customer service and they said that we don’t have to pay taxes!! Just have to pay any hotel fees (like resort fees) that they charge you directly. Wow! We’re going to be shooting for a weekend at our “local” 5-star hotel. What fun :)
I reserved a room this morning at 12:27am CST. The check4change is no longer working. You have to be searching for a hotel and wait for the prices to change to $1 and then re-input your dates and location and the video will show up. We reserved 4 nights at the Port Orleans Resort in Orlando (Sun-Thurs). I thought my chances of getting a nicer resort hotel would go up if I searched for Sun-Thurs. This hotel is a 4* hotel. Nice deal. :)
Congrats on the nice vacation! I don’t blame you for taking your post down…I wouldn’t want to lose my vacation either. My hubby and I tried on Thursday and missed the first window by about two minutes! Then we went to bed before the really late windows!
We’re gonna try again on Monday, though. We’ll see how it goes. I don’t think I want to be glued to the computer without leaving for the entire day like some were saying they did on Slick Deals!
Thanks for the info and have fun on your trip!
Can someone post the times that have happened today?
There was a blue plus sign that said FREE All Inclusive. That was how I knew. Some of the hotels had it and others didn’t. However, once the timer goes off there weren’t as many as on a regular search.
FYI…According to Newsweek Mon-Wed. only 624 people have been successful: http://current.newsweek.com/budgettravel/2009/01/its_hard_to_book_those_1_room.html
I was not charged for taxes on the hotel room. The hotel will directly charge me for the fees. $4/person bag fee and $3/night room fee. There will likely be taxes on that. But that should be less than $50 total for a whole week. People on SLickDeals say that Last MInute Travel customer service has been really helpful. You could call and ask them about the taxes directly. That might be the best option if you want a 100% certain answer.
